In the age of COVID-19, Alvin Chew, 28, believes that the more you know, the better. That’s why he started the Community Telehealth Service (CTS), an initiative that deploys health booths in residential neighbourhoods to provide free health monitoring at public venues such as community centres.
The check-ups are available for Singaporeans above 50 years old, and those who have had their regular check-ups deferred due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The telemedicine booths also utilise the latest health technologies to test for eye and cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity.
“‘More Science, Less Fear’ encapsulates my way of life, how I contribute to our collective knowledge, and why I do what I do.”
“It would be amazing to see how beautiful our society could be if everyone simply gave back together.”
