29-year-old Randall Chong is the founder of Books Beyond Borders, a social business dedicated to expanding educational opportunities in the developing world.
They collect and sell donated books, and distribute 100 per cent of all donations and net profits from book sales to their impact partners. They have raised money, set up school libraries, trained quality teachers and provided thousands of workbooks and school bags to rural, underfunded public schools in Nepal.
“When I got to Nepal, I would see children walking for hours to school empty handed – to face a classroom with blank walls, untrained teachers and no books to read.”
“Excited because I am truly passionate about education as well as the process of building something that is purpose-driven. Hopeful because I know we are moving the needle.”
